What is financial coaching?

As a financial coach I work with individuals and couples who are stressed out about money. Like many Americans they are in debt and living paycheck to paycheck. I know the burden this can put on your relationships and how hopeless it can feel. It doesn't have to be that way. I will guide you through a 3-phase process that will take you from financially strapped to your ideal future.

A financial coach is not a financial advisor. I will not be handling your money or your investments. Instead I will walk with you and help you climb out from the despair of debt and into the peace of financial freedom. Like a coach I will teach you new skills and push you to harness those skills to build wealth.

My 3-phase process

Phase 1: Financial Assessment

In order to reach your financial goals we'll need to take a detailed look at where you are now. This part can be a bit painful, but don't worry you can do it! After we have a clear picture of your financial situation we'll curate a plan specific to your needs. Then it gets exciting because you will begin to see your way to a brighter future. Phase 1 typically takes around 1-2 coaching sessions, but we will look back frequently to see where we've been and keep an eye on where we are going.

Phase 2: Attacking Debt

Total consumer debt in the US $12.73 trillion.* Whether it's credit cards, car loans, or student loans, chances are you own a portion of that debt. Nothing will slow your financial progress down like being in debt, so we need to be aggressive about getting out and staying out. Using the tested and proven snowball method, I will guide you through the process  of eliminating your debt faster than you ever thought possible. The time it will take will depend on your situation but usually 3-6 coaching sessions will put you on the track to success.

Phase 3: Prepare for the Future

What does your dream future look like to you? This is where you get to make that a reality. Retirement is not an age, it's a financial number. In this phase we'll determine what that number is and I will work with you on how to achieve it. By phase 3 you'll be going strong on your own, but I recommend a coaching session once or twice a year to make sure you stay on track with your goals.
